Tales To Change The Word

A twelve page publication, which challenges the requested notion of the experimental elements seen in magazines, by relating the uncertainty of the existence of the girl and the chair with the uncertain necessity of trends within contemporary editorial design. Instead investigating the importance and function of classically set typography, upon a platform of questionably unnecessary processes across both digital and analogue production.

A 144 page programme, introducing the content for each of the conferences across the three given languages. And to provide background information on each of the companies involved. Also ten promotional poster designs, in three languages, designed to work as a set and individually in their respective countries.

200th Anniversary

A bespoke san-serif typeface, heavily influenced by Caslon Egyptian, the first ever (what we now know as a) san-serif typeface to be cut, in 1812 - the year of Dickens' birth. Further bespoke display versions were created to use for the main branding and text highlights throughout. Also a double ended publication functioning as the event programme for the launch night and a general information source for the Dickens' 200th anniversary celebrations. The centre spread offers a limited edition pull out poster, which features all 200 book covers and a chronology of Charles Dickens.

'The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on:' is a translation (19th Century) by Edward Fitzgerald of the original (12th Century) by Omar Khayyam. The typographic treatment represents the journey of this infamous quote from it's creation through to it's translation and the present day.
